Garlic is by far my FAVOURITE herb. It's known as the "poor man's antibiotic" & "king of the vegetables". There are over 300 different types of garlic. It has amazing healing properties & is ANTI-VIRAL, ANTI-FUNGAL & ANTI-BACTERIAL. It doesn't get any better than that! Garlic has been used throughout human history as one of the most therapeutic foods of all time. It contains anti-oxidants with chemical compounds that have been shown to help boost the immune system, fight off colds/flus, act as an expectorant, act as an anti-septic, help eliminate intestinal worms, help lower blood pressure, help lower cholesterol, improve memory & it TASTES GREAT!!

STORING & SELECTING
Garlic should be stored in a cool, dry, dark place in an aerated container. Will last for several weeks if stored properly. Choose garlic with firm, juicy cloves that are not sprouting.
HELPFUL HINTS
The ONLY downside to garlic is the "garlic breath". However, the health benefits far outweigh the negative social effects. If others around you are also consuming garlic, no need to worry as no-one will notice:). Some helpful tips to reduce the "fragrance" of garlic are:
1) Chew parsley or fresh mint leaves after a meal, then rinse your mouth with lemon juice & water.
2) Chew on fennel seeds.
3) For your hands: Wash with COLD water while rubbing your fingers on a stainless steel utensil. (e.g Spoon, knife, fork).
